40s Dress Project

Been working on this little number on and off the past few weeks. I just have the zipper left to install and I have to hem it. Really excited about how it turning out. The fabric is something I picked up at a thrift store years ago. Its cotton with a bit of a stretch. Next time I'll use a fabric that lays a little nicer. The sleeves kinda stick out with the cotton.

Summer Uniform

Ruffle butt and cris-cross back. I want to make Cherry one of these for every day of the summer.

Summer Vacation

In just over two weeks, I will be livin' it up at our families quintessential New England vacation spot.

My Favorite things about Cape Cod

*The families cottage. Lots of old character, great retro counter tops, creaky wooden stairs.
*Out side showers
. There's nothing like showering in the brisk 70degree sunshine.
*The beach. I'll admit, i rarely go to the beach here at home, but there is something magical about the beach up there.
*Fish and Chips. Actually, any and all fried food. I'm drooling just thinking about it!
*4th of July. There's nothing more patriotic than a New England 4th of July! *Ice Cream Every Night. One word. The Smuggler.
*Kids Concerts on the Green
*Pancake Breakfast. Put on by a bunch of adorable elderly people at the church.
*Antique Mall. I usually can't afford very much, but I try to pick up something every year.

My list could go on and on, but I'll stop at that. Can't wait to bring Cherry this year. Last year was the first year we skipped our summer vacation since I've met Josh. We had our house on the market and we were trying to save like crazy for a new place. This year we plan on making up for it and really enjoying our vacation and our family.

5*9*11 Manic Monday

I promise I've been thinking about updating a lot, just haven't gotten around to it. I've completed a ton of sewing projects recently (toddler dresses made from hubbys old vintage western shirts, presents for the girls friends birthday, and I've mastered one of my retro patterns 50s high waisted shorts.) I'm going to try and get photos up soon.
And I even got around to working on a few hats. Saturday we shopped Art Rock http://www.artrockrocks.com Yet another amazing indie craft show hosted by the beautiful, most hard working lady I know, Amanda. I was super inspired to get back to some business sewing and pretty disappointed I opted to not do the show.
Anyways. I think today will be filled with a trip to the zoo and "Popcorn and Movie Monday" later.

And congrats to my gal pal Sandy (whom I miss!) who just graduated from FSU, started a new blog, and is officially my first follower! Way to go Sandy!

04*18*11 It's been a While

ok so I've deserted this blog for long enough! One of my crafty, awesome mommy friends has inspired me to start it up again. Her blog is wonderful and contagious!

So as for me, since I've last blogged, I've birthed another baby. 3 girls under the age of 3. And yes, it is as exhausting as it sounds.

I've recently limited my intake of custom orders on my website. I've been so busy making hats, I haven't had time to created for my girls or for my self. This summer I have big plans to get to some of my patterns I've neglected for so long and make some super cute stuff for my kids that I've come across on other blogs. Who knows how long I'll keep up on the blog this time, but I'm going to try.

Here are some photos of this weekend projects. Every kid needs their own super hero cape!
My kids kinda love Super Grover and are always using their bath towels as capes, so I finally got around to making them official capes. So far they aren't very impressed. LOL.
