This to That Tuesday (a few days late)

The Wooden Bench

I started this project a few weeks ago, although it feel like a took forever to finish it.  I am so in love with the way it came out.  It looks exactly how it looked in my head, it's so exciting when that actually happens.

Before

After

As I had said before, I used a paint that we had laying around, got some little plastic feet to protect the bench where it may possibly sit in water if it rains, and I ordered some outdoor UV fabric to make the cushion.  I tried really hard to do this project "right" with the proper materials that will stand up to being outside.  We just need to get a coat of outdoor sealer on the bench so the paint will last as long as possible and it'll be completely done!

Last Week Recap

Last week flew by.  Between grumpy, misbehaving kids, and lots of projects around the house, and me being in a foul mood, very little was accomplished.  The highlights included a very chill Valentines Day, a fun play date with the girls friend Ashyr, and a killer picnic at Sugar Sand Park in Boca.

Valentines Day at our house included waking up to some cute decorations that yours truly secretly put up after everyone went to sleep the night before.  The girls were so excited to come down stairs and see the hearts all over.  They got some Valentines Reece's Peanutbutter Cups, a hand made card and a Carebears activity book.  Josh and I celebrated by ordering Indian Food from Safron for dinner (one of our favorites, but too expensive except for special occasions).  The we relaxingly watched a movie after the kids went to bed.

We were supposed to have a mini Valentines Day party Thursday, but all the girls friends were either sick or busy, except their bud Ash.  It ended up being a super fun play date none-the-less.  We at cookies, played out side with the hose, had some lunch and did some playing inside.  It was nice having a play date at home where the kids are more corralled, because I was actually able to talk with Erin, instead of running around after the three kids like other outing play dates.

Sunday we met some of our friends at Sugar Sand Park in Boca.  This is by far one of the coolest, if not THE coolest, play ground ever.  It is this massive wooden castle/ fortress type structure complete with a water play area.  There is a Carousel and a science museum of sorts with all kinds of interactive things for the kids.  I will for sure be seeing if any one wants to meet down there for a day of fun soon.  It was nice to see our friends that live down that way and for the kids to get together, even though they didn't do much interacting.  We make for a pretty handsome group, wouldn't you say?

This week I hope to get you something for tomorrow's This to That Tuesday, and maybe a few other posts of things going on.  Here's to a more positive week!!!  And happy Presidents Day!

Movie - Quarantine 2: Terminal

So Josh and I watched a movie last night.  This doesn't happen often these days because I always want to go to sleep as soon as we get the kids down.  But I was soooooooo excited the other week when Quarantine 2 popped up on Netflix Instant watch.  I've been waiting so long to see this movie.  I'm a sucker for a biological disaster, end of the world, zombie type movie.  Not just any zombie movie, but the ones where the zombie epidemic is caused by some epic fail by the government.  The movie was nothing amazing, kinda predictable, but entertaining nonetheless.  I didn't fall asleep in the middle of it, which says a lot.  I give it a thumbs up, but I'm easy to please when it comes to movies.

Quick Super Hero Gift

Just whipped this cute Super Hero gift up for a special little birthday guy.  Wish I'd had more time to come up with something to make him, but hopefully he'll get a kick out of it.  Abby, Zoey & Cherry all want some of their own now.

Sleep (deprived)

According to Wikipedia:
Sleep is a naturally recurring state characterized by reduced or absent consciousness, relatively suspended sensory activity, and inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles.[1] It is distinguished from quiet wakefulness by a decreased ability to react to stimuli, and is more easily reversible than being in hibernation or a coma. Sleep is a heightened anabolic state, accentuating the growth and rejuvenation of the immune, nervous, skeletal and muscular systems. It is observed in all mammals, all birds, and many reptiles, amphibians, and fish.

According to Brenda:
Sleep is a mythical creature people who do not have children tell stories about, much like unicorns and bigfoot.  A joke children play on mothers, where they lay down and close their eyes just until their mother is ready to lay down and go to sleep, then they start crying that very instant.

I'm pretty sure I have not had a complete, uninterrupted night of sleep in 3+ years.  And I'm really feeling it this pregnancy.  When I was pregnant with Cherry, Abby and Zoey were still napping regularly, so I got quick naps during the day, which helped a lot.  These days, it is a miracle if they take a nap, and even more rare if they take a nap at the same time as Cherry, so no breaks for me during the day.  It makes for very very long days.  They typically wake up around 5:30 or 6 on a good day, and they are non stop until about 8pm.  Add having to wake up with Cherry 2 to 3 times a night = a very tired and very grumpy mommy.  My patience has reached 0 (which I hate, because I've always thought myself to be a pretty patient mom).  The way I see it, I'll be able to sleep a whole night in about 5 years, because the chances this baby is going to sleep any better than the rest of my kids is slim.  So if I forget your name or my own, I'm not going senile in my 20s, I'm just unbelievably tired.
